SYNOPSIS OF THE STORY
Ayo, a naval officer, falls in love with Arike online and plans to marry her. He asks his friend Dare to look out for her, but discovers three years later that Arike and Dare are married with twins, leaving Ayo heartbroken and deceived.
THE VEIL OF LOVE
Ayo Koleoye, a naval officer, lived a life of discipline and duty. His days were filled with the rigors of serving his country, but his nights were often spent scrolling through social media, searching for a connection that seemed elusive. That was when he stumbled upon Arike's profile. Her smile was captivating, and her words were laced with a warmth that drew him in. They started as friends, exchanging messages and laughter, but soon their conversations deepened, and Ayo found himself looking forward to her messages more than anything else.
As their online friendship blossomed, Ayo and Arike both knew that taking their relationship to the next level would be challenging. Ayo was based in Kaduna, while Arike lived in a different part of the country. Despite the distance and the uncertainties, Ayo's feelings for Arike only grew stronger. He saw only one possibility - marrying her - and he was determined to make it happen.
Fate presented an opportunity when Ayo's boss, Lieutenant Olanrewaju, received a call about his children's hospitalization. Ayo accompanied his boss to visit his family, and during this trip, he finally got to meet Arike face-to-face. The moment they met, it was like winning a jackpot for both of them. Ayo took her out to places, and they had a wonderful time. In a moment of vulnerability, Ayo asked his friend Dare, whom Arike had introduced as her brother in church, to look out for Arike while he was away. Dare agreed, and Ayo left, believing his girlfriend was in good hands.

Three years went by, and Ayo was granted a month's leave. He planned to visit Arike, meet her parents, and take her home to meet his family, paving the way for their marriage. The thought of finally settling down with the woman he loved filled him with joy. However, upon arrival, he was met with a reality that shook him to his core.
Ayo's first stop was a local spot where he had bought roasted plantain with Arike during his last visit. The vendor, a friendly woman, recognized him but seemed puzzled by his presence. When Ayo asked about Arike and Dare, the woman's expression changed to one of mild amusement. "You don't know, sir?" she asked, her voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and pity. "Arike and Dare are married now. They just had twins."
Ayo's world crumbled. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, unable to breathe. The woman's words echoed in his mind as he walked towards the house she described as Arike and Dare's home. When he arrived, a pregnant woman answered the door. Ayo's anger and disappointment spilled out in the form of insults directed at Dare and Arike. The woman, terrified, quickly shut the door and ran inside.
Ayo's encounter with Sunny, a local resident, only added salt to his wounds. Sunny knew Arike and Dare and confirmed the truth about their marriage. Ayo felt deceived and betrayed, his heart heavy with sorrow. He checked into a hotel room, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have been.
Meanwhile, Sunny's encounter with Arike and Dare led to a revelation of their deceit. They apologized for their actions, realizing the gravity of their mistakes. To avoid Ayo's wrath, they lay low, relying on Sunny for updates on Ayo's movements.
As Ayo grappled with the reality of his situation, he knew he had to move forward. The question was, how? The love he thought was real had been a facade, a deception that had blinded him to the truth. Ayo's journey had taken an unexpected turn, one that would test his strength and resilience. The end.
